Trips and GPS tracking

Review journeys in the trip list, inspect trip details, and follow recorded routes on a map. Filter by date, vehicle, category and tags where supported. The available categories include private, business, commuting and unclassified.

Split a recorded trip

In v0.3.24, the trip split flow links a list of recorded track points to map selection. Select the intended split point, verify the proposed selection and explicitly confirm the split. The selected point is retained as the end point of the first resulting trip and the start point of the next trip, preserving the boundary between journeys.

Merge trips

The trip details flow also supports merging trips. The merge implementation avoids conflicts between track-point sequence numbers when joining routes. Review the resulting route and details before saving.

Trip history and imports

Changes to recorded trips should be tracked by the application's audit history. Where supported, imported GPS routes are aligned to the road network using map matching. Refer to the current API and implementation for permissions, validation and accepted import formats.

GPS tracking and mobile display

Compatible clients may synchronize recorded GPS points through the REST API. Android offline tracking and Bluetooth-triggered recording depend on client version and device permissions.

The responsive dashboard provides map and trip-list views. In v0.3.24, trip detail panels are easier to expand and scroll on mobile, including long route details.

See personal display preferences for distance, speed and date formats.
