Version: Current

Updating

  1. Create and verify a database backup (see backups).
  2. Read the release notes of the versions you skip – under Releases in this documentation and on GitHub.
  3. Pull the new image and restart:
docker compose pull
docker compose up -d
docker compose ps
docker compose logs --tail=100

Database migrations run automatically when the server starts. Keep the database and backup volumes intact – never use docker compose down -v.

After updating

  • Compare your .env with the current environment template; new optional variables are commented out there.
  • If a release improves map matching, run Administration › Background jobs › Map matching › Re-match all trips once.
  • Update the Android app as well. New server versions stay compatible with older app versions, but new features often need both.

Staying on a version

Set IMAGE_TAG to a release tag such as v0.6.11 to stay on that version, or v0 for the latest release of major version 0. latest always follows the newest release.
