Backups and recovery

Preserve the PostgreSQL database and the backup volume. Create consistent backups before upgrades or migrations, store copies off-host, and periodically test restoration.

The application's Docker Compose configuration defines the persistent volumes and services. Review docker-compose.yml before storage changes.

docker compose down preserves volumes; docker compose down -v may permanently remove managed data and backups.
